Legendary music producer/turntablist/recording artist and DPP client, DJ Shadow (AKA Josh Davis), released his sixth studio album, Our Pathetic Age, on November 15, 2019.  This double album boasts of 11 instrumental tracks on the first and 12 electrifying collaborations on the second, with features from the likes of Run the Jewels, Nas, Ghostface Killah, Raekwon, Dave East, Inspectah Deck, Paul Banks, Wiki, Lateef the Truthseeker, Gift of Gab and De La Soul.

DJ Shadow and De La Soul debuted their new video for the catchy track “Rocket Fuel” followed up by their first live performance together on Jimmy Kimmel Live.  A five-piece horn section and turntablists DJ Babu of Dilated Peoples and DJ Melo D of Beat Junkies joined the trio on the Kimmel stage to the delight of the energetic crowd.  De La Soul lead Kimmel’s audience in an enthusiastic call and repeat as the horn section ushered in a scratch break by the three turntablists.  As the crowd spilled out onto Hollywood Blvd. after the lively performance, you could see the playful banter between friends as they continued to sing the fun and playful chorus to each other!

Partner Tony Peyrot (pictured L-R with attorney Jamie Young, manager Chris McIlvenny and DJ Shadow) and a few members of our DPP staff, were in attendance to lend our support and enjoy the show.  We know the time and attention it takes to produce an album (let alone a double album) and DJ Shadow is an artist who exemplifies the passionate determination and artistry it takes to give all of us a memorable, timeless musical experience.

Congratulations Josh!
