We’ve done it again! Each Holiday season, DPP is proud to team with local organizations to provide much needed assistance to underprivileged families in the community. This year, our firm partnered with the San Fernando Valley Rescue Mission and the Los Angeles County Department of Social Services. Both organizations and the specific programs DPP volunteered for were carefully selected by our firm’s staff.
In the spirit of the Thanksgiving holiday, the firm partnered with the San Fernando Valley Rescue Mission to support their efforts to serve the homeless in the community. The organization provides homeless men, women, children and families an opportunity, not only to obtain food, shelter, and basic life necessities, but also provides a foundation for individual and family restoration by developing personalized plans based on their needs for achieving personal growth, employment, and housing. To support the Mission, DPP created a month long food drive! The food drive was embraced by both our staff and clients alike. Also in partnership with the Valley Rescue Mission, the firm volunteered to provide and serve a delicious warm dinner to their members. It was a pleasure to donate our time, warm food, and loads of non-perishable goods to this fantastic organization!
This month, DPP became a sponsor in the Adopt-A-Family program of the LA County Department of Social Services. Based on specific criteria, sponsors are matched with a local family in need and provided with their contact information along with the adoptee family’s holiday wish list. These items can range from grocery items, clothing, gift certificates, or toy requests. Our firm was matched with a local family of eight. Over the last few weeks, DPP staff connected with the family and got to know the children’s holiday wishes. With this in mind, DPP purchased and wrapped gifts for the children and parents. The opportunity to make a difference in someone’s life turned out to be a heartfelt and bonding experience for our staff as well!
The spirit of giving is a gift that can be relished year-round! The partners of DPP encourage participation in these rewarding experiences and are grateful to the staff for embracing a culture of giving, especially during this holiday season.
